Cast rectangular single looped frame with a square grooved lip projecting from its outer edge and a rectangular integrally cast plate with vertical lines and a drilled hole; a sub-rectangular tab extends the plate. A rivet of diameter 2mm passes through the broader part of the plate though is mostly lost. This object is paralleled by NLM-81FC43. Suggested date: Medieval, 1250-1400

Copper alloy buckle. Cast single looped frame constructed by the attachment of a thin rectangular-section loop at either end to a separate strap bar around which is looped a drawn wire pin. A plain folded and slotted buckle plate, narrower behind, is also looped round the strap bar. A single rivet of diameter 2mm and length 3.9mm passes through the inner ends of the plate, attaching them to each other and the strap [lost]. Suggested date: Late Medieval, 1400-1500

An incomplete Anglo-Scandinavian cast copper-alloy bridle bit link of early medieval date. It has a rectangular shaft that is D-shaped in section with flat back and rounded front face which has a rounded boss before the incomplete end. At the complete end, there is a knobbed loop. Length 41.21mm, width 20.38mm, weight 9.99g.
Similar examples are recorded through the Portable Antiquities Scheme (see for example SF-DD8A4E, SF-59F6E2, SF-C06A13, SF-F8CCA3) and have been studied by D. Williams, who suggests their possible use as harness links and dating to the 11th century …

Incomplete Roman copper-alloy Colchester derivative Polden Hill brooch dating to circa 43-70 AD. Spring, pin and lower bow missing due to old breaks. The wings are semi-cylindrical wings with a folded enclosed section at both ends. The wings are decorated three transverse grooves at their terminals and a diagonal groove in presence either side of the bow. A fragment Roman copper-alloy Colchester Derivative Harlow Spring/double lug brooch dating to circa AD 43-70. It is T-shaped in plan. The extant elements of the brooch consist of the wings and part of the upper bow. The wings are hemispherical and open at the reverse. A worn, bone bead of unknown date.
The bead is circular in plan and has a median raised rib running around the circumference. The edges of the perforation are worn and damaged, with some areas of deep radial striations, possible cut by the string/thread the beads were suspended on. The surface has a glossy mid brown surface.

The has been made from a pressed sheet that has a domed centre with hollowed-back, a pierced central circular hole (3mm in diameter) would have held a rivet which is now missing. The basal flange is in the form of an elaborate quatrefoil with each arm made from a semicircular projection that has a pointed tip.
