Oyster shell. The bottom half of an edible oyster shell. A seafood diet was introduced or expanded under Roman rule, when British oysters acquired an empire-wide reputation. Ceramic building material. Sandy oxidised fabric; two small concavo-convex sherds, land drain tile fragments. Fiercely abraded.
