A complete copper-alloy terminal, 'end-cap' or pommel from a knife of Post Medieval dating (AD 1500 to AD 1650). This terminal is likely to have come from an iron scale tang knife. It starts at a rectangular base and then forms into two parallel curved arms, which then connect by a small bar at the top of the terminal. The shape of the object is very similar to a lyre. The walls have circular indentations arranged in a linear fashion. The decoration on the head and walls indicates that it is machine made. Copper alloy buckle. Cast single looped or D-shaped buckle frame with a slightly expanded outer edge and a narrowed and offset strap bar. A neat rectangular buckle plate of thickness 0.5mm, narrower behind, was secured by three dome-headed rivets of diameter 2mm from which the heads have all been knocked off, a pair of rocker-work curls are stamped on the display side of the plate along with a neatly incised rocker-work linear border.
