A possible lead alloy weight or gaming piece. It is irregular in shape, being triangular at the bottom but with a circular top half. The base is also not straight and is 'kinked' halfway along, although this may be as a result of damage and not deliberate. It is flat on the front and back faces. The base is not smooth but has what may be symbols etched into it. It is difficult to discern if all of these are damage or deliberate but the horseshoe shaped symbol is obviously deliberate, the possible rune next to it is not so clear-cut. It is exceptionally large and heavy…

A complete, lead weight. The weight is plano-convex and has a distorted central hole measuring 9 x 6mm. The exterior is worn and contains several deep incisions. One of these looks vaguely like a rune, though this is likely coincidental. A deep diagonal groove is visible in the centre, and to the right is a vertical groove with an upward diagonal stroke. Height: 14 mm. Weight: 26 g. Diameter: 19 mm.

A leady alloy spindle whorl of early Medieval to Medieval date (AD 600-1500). The whorl has a biconical body with a central sub circular aperture (9.78mm diameter). The top surface is decorated with what appears to be runic or pseudo-runic characters, and thus may be an imitation of script rather than a genuine inscription. The bottom surface is decorated with raised, curved lines radiating out from the centre, creating a swirling pattern. The whorl has a dark grey patina.
Decorated lead alloy spindle whorls are hard to date without further archaeological context. Lead whorls have bee…

Fragment of sub-rectangular lead sheet inscribed with runes. There are two clear rows of runes, one above the other, each bordered above and below by a groove similar to those making up the runes. There are small gaps between the rows; each gap is about half the height of the runes.
The central line is the clearest, with at least seven readable runes, most contained within rectangular panels, so divided from each other by pairs of vertical lines. The upper line has about five readable runes. There is space for part of a lower, third line in the acute-angled corner…
