An fragment of a Roman, struck or hammered, copper alloy coin, denomination possibly an As or nummus AE1/2 or follis of unknown Emperor. Obverse: Possible vague head outline. Inscription: Illegible. The coin is extremely worn and in poor condition with extensive corrosion, irregular edges, very pitted surface and completely broken through forming a hole at one point. Legible legend reads ET...H...IVI. Reverse has shield on cross fourchee dividing legend. Two of the four quadrants visible containing lions (upper right) and fleur de lis (lower right). Beaded inner circle. Reverse legend reads ...L...N... Very worn, with an old jagged break along edge. Coin is slightly bent inwards on the obverse side. It is 16.33 mm DIA x 0.67 mm TH and weighs 0.62 g.
