An incomplete silver Post Medieval coin; a threepence of Charles I (AD 1625 - 1649), minted at the provincial mint of York in AD 1643 - 1644. The coin is incomplete and only half survives. It has broken across a circular piercing at the 9 o'clock position on the obverse, made from the obverse. The coin is 17.8mm long, 8.9mm wide and 0.5mm thick. 0.44g. See North number 2323 on page 188 of Volume 2 (1919).

A silver Post Medieval coin; a three pence of Charles I (AD 1625 - 1649), issued at the York mint and dating from AD 1643 - 1644. See North number 2323. The coin has a crack in the flan but is otherwise in good condition. It is 18.33mm diameter, 0.6mm thick, 1.1g.

Silver threepence of Charles I (civil war period) dated 1643-4. York Mint. Initial Mark Lion. The coin has been pierced from the obverse to reverse with a smooth spherical hole. It has been pierced in the lower left hand quadrant at a position of seven o'clock on the obverse. This corresponds with a position of eight o'clock on the reverse. The coin is in extremely fine condition.
