This coin differs slightly to the example illustrated (ibid.), having a double ring with inner ring toothed and with a central pellet, below the horse on the reverse. A worn silver Iron Age unit of the East Wiltshire group, dating from c. 50-35 BC. Cottam et al (2010) refer to this as the 'six-spoked pellet ring' type (ABC 2125). BMC 3019-20, VA 1171. This is not a common coin, indeed all the coins of the un-named East Wiltshire group are rare, as they were only produced for a short time and the group was probably absorbed into one of the larger tribes in the area (Cottam et al 1998:107).

A worn silver unit of Cunobelinus, dating to the period c. AD 10-40. This is only the third silver unit of this type recorded by the PAS, although several others (without provenance) have been recorded with the CCI. The other PAS examples are clearer (see HESH- and NARC-AD1978); because of the wear the reverse image may not be aligned correctly. BMC Hobbs p. 130, 1886-8; Van Arsdell 2063.
