A Medieval to Post Medieval cast, lead alloy medium sized, uniface token of Powell type 12. The token is circular in plan, sub-rectangular in cross section and uniface. The decoration on the token consists of four series of four concentric chevrons whose point meet at a central raised circular pellet. the reverse is flat and plain The token is an off white colour. A late Medieval to post medieval copper alloy French jetton dating c. 1490 to 1525. The obverse has a large V flanked by small tefoils and the reverse has cross pattee with a stemmed flower in each quarter. The obverse inscription reads SIT [IIOIIIEII]I and the reverse inscription is SIT [IIOIIIIII]I BO[IIIIIII]OVI. Mernick and Algar (2001:239) no.185 give an example of this type of jetton. Mitchiner (1988:732-734) states that the letter V stands for Virgo and represents the Virgin Mary and suggests the date of c. 1497 - c. 1521.

Mitchiner (1988: 194) no. 535. The jetton has been broken in a chord from c 19:30 to 23:30 (24hr clock) as viewed from the obverse.

A Medieval copper-alloy English jetton of the sterling/allied series dating to c. AD 1280 - 1350. Berry type 6B: obverse lion's head with tracery, reverse three armed cross within a trefoil. Mernick type 4f.3.6. On the obverse is a small central indentation. The jetton is bent, being concave on the reverse. Barnard points out that the geometrical tracery is similar to that seen in the window of the vestry at Merton College, Oxford, dated about 1310 (Berry:35). Very similar to PAS database DOR-5F49B7; see also CORN-98653E. This small cluster may, or may not, be significant.
