An incomplete silver halfpenny probably of Edward IV (AD 1461 - 1470; 1471- 1483) dating to AD 1461 - 1464, heavy coinage. The obverse has a front facing bust with an open crown, without drapery. The "E" is closed and the words have a colon between. The halfpenny resembles Edward IV with the exception of the legend which reads EDWARDVS. The reverse has a long cross with three pellets in each visible quarter. The "N" is lombardic. Approxmately 50% of the coin has been lost. Withers' type 1 - 3, North 1546
