An incomplete Medieval copper alloy jetton from France, AD 1250-1450.
Description: It is now ovoid in plane, as the damage has removed the outer rim and part of the body of the jetton.
Obverse: Shield of France with Fleur de Lis.
Reverse: Triple stranded straight cross, fleuretty
Measurements: Diameter: 22.33 mm, Thickness: 1.01 mm, Weight: 1.42 g.

A copper alloy Medieval French jetton dating from the 15th century. It is a shield of France type, similar to those on page 224 and 225 of Mitchiner, but with a double stranded arcuate cross on the reverse. It has a grey green patina and is in good condition.

A large, thick, copper-alloy medieval jetton, probably dating from the reign of Edward III. It measures 33.27 mm in diameter and is 2.8 mm thick. It weighs 16.1 grams. The jetton is pierced, possibly for use as a spindle whorl or for the repair of an object. The perforation is large, at around 7.05 mm in diameter. This perforation obscures the central device, but it probably depicted the Roman emperor Postumus, the jetton being a type which imitates a sestertius of this emperor.
