Copper alloy Coin. As or Sestertius, possibly of Vespasian (69-79), Titus (79-81) or Domitian (81-96), possibly Reece period 4. Obverse description: Bust right; inscription lost, hole drilled at 5 O'clock, now worn to an oval shape of 6.6mm length. Reverse description: Numerous punch marks, but no sign of controlled working. Suggested date: Early Roman, but possibly reused as a pierced element of a necklace or amuletic group in the early Anglo-Saxon period. Suggested date: Early Roman - Early Medieval, (69-96) -700. Cliff Reeves kindly identified this coin. Diameter: 25.7mm, Weight: 4.34gm
