A fragment (approximately one third) of a silver penny of Edward the Confessor (1042-66), 'Expanding Cross', light coinage (North 822), moneyer: Authgrimr (Othgrim; OÐGRIM), mint: Lincoln. Ref: North 1994: 180. The damage to the coin appears to have occurred post deposition as the breaks are not as clean as might be expected from a deliberate cut.

Head of a copper alloy 8th- or 9th-century Anglo-Saxon disc-headed pin, probably part of a triple linked pin set. The head and part of the shaft survive in fairly good condition. The head is circular and flat with decoration on one face, and has two holes, one on each side at 90 degrees between the top of the circle and the drop of the shaft. If the shaft emerges at 6 o'clock, the hole at 9 o'clock is now incomplete. Surviving width 26mm, surviving length 39mm. The object dates to c.AD 700-900. The decoration consists of a cross with narrow arms, defined by an incised line at each…

A copper-alloy strap end of Thomas type A1, dating c. 800-1100. The strap end is largely complete, though has suffered from surface wear and corrosion. The object has a split end, with two circular holes to take rivets, now missing; the outer frame of the upper tap of the split end has been lost, though this is the only missing part of the strap end, along with the rivets. The main panel is decorated with a stylized beast in low relief, and what appears to be enamel in the field around the beast. The enamel is a grey-white colour, but wear and corrosion have obscured the details of…

What remains of the brooch are the bow, with part of the central plate of the head and a lower panel attached to the bow. The central plate is undecorated, with broken edges leaving it in a sub-triangular shape in plan. The underside of the central plate retains a copper-ally lug cast integral with the head and two complete coils of an iron spring-pin corroded in place. A cast copper-alloy Anglo-Saxon small-long brooch, dating c. 475-600. The brooch is mostly complete, missing its foot terminal and pin. The head of the brooch is cruciform, with a central panel defined on three sides by a line of stamped crescent-over-dot motif. The side wings do not appear to bear any more decoration, except for a small notch cut in the lower edge of each wing, to further distinguish from the bow. The top arm of the cruciform head bears more damage to its edges, though not much material has been lost; the base of the top arm also has a notch in its lower corners, …

A wrought iron pin of probable Anglo-Saxon tradition, dating to the Early Medieval period, c. 500-1000. The pin appears to be complete, though is has suffered from considerable corrosion due to the fact that it was made in iron. The simple shaft has a conical end with a blunted point, though this could be due to wear and corrosion, and much of the shaft has lost the outer surface to corrosion. The head of the pin appears to have been made separately from wire and added to the shaft, coiling around its top. This head bears coiled wire decoration, but corrosion obscures the details, …

A cast copper-alloy pin of Early Medieval date, c. 700-900. The pin has a polyhedral head that is primarily cuboid, but with faceted corners. Each of the four primary faces has a single punched ring-and-dot decoration. The top face has an inscribed X, though slightly off-centre. The base of the head tapers to a collar and then the pin shaft. The shaft broke in antiquity, and it appears that the 10mm of shaft remaining were worn to produce a sharp tip for likely reuse - possibly as a game token or peg.
