Gilded silver pyramidal mount from a sword-scabbard, probably found around 1970. It is small and low, measuring only 11.4mm square at the base and 5.9mm tall. Part of one wall, and most of the bar on the underside, are missing, with unworn granular breaks; it weighs 1.98g. The pyramid has an empty setting on the top and relief-decorated faces with gilding and possible niello decoration; it dates to the very late 6th century or early 7th century, perhaps c. 580-640 AD. An incomplete gilded copper alloy early-medieval brooch, probably of small square-headed type. The surviving portion comprises the foot, which has deeply incised chip carved Style I decoration, with a triple-ridged lozenge-shaped central element and a projection at the foot with a small sub-rectangular terminal. The front edge has a stump of a strongly curved bow with concave flanking grooves or recesses along the sides. The reverse is flat with a stump of a catchplate. Traces of gilding remain. Cf. MacGregor and Bolick (1993) p121-123, numbers 14.3-14.7.

An early Medieval copper alloy button brooch of Suzuki (2008) class B1 with a triple ridged rim within which is a highly stylised anthropomorphic mask. The upper part of the face comprises a triangular helmet which sits over straight eyebrows which form a single element with the nose. The eyes are large and round, sitting over a narrow, angular mouth. The reverse has stumps of an in-line hinge and catchplate which demonstrate iron staining from the missing spring and pin. Circa late 5th-6th century AD.
