A sherd from a hand made (not wheel-thrown) ceramic vessel of unknown date. The sherd is a wall sherd and is strongly curved, suggesting it is from a small globular vessel. The striations in the clay are not uni-directinal as in wheel thrown pots, and instead, there are deep finger marks showing where clay has been pushed, perhaps into a mould? The outer face is very smooth but has small flat areas. The reverse is uneven and wiped in different directions. There appear to be two layers of clay forming the wall of the vessel. An undatable but probably Bronze Age to Iron Age (2150 BC - AD 100) copper alloy openwork mount, curving in profile and lozenge-shaped. It measures 34.80x36.84x2.09mm and weighs 5.9g. The mount is concave to the reverse and convex to the front. Its edges are concave. In two opposing corners is a rivet hole, 2.45mm and 2.67mm in diameter. Two incomplete and probably Roman iron hobnails, with broken square-sectioned shafts. One has a conical, rectangular head (9.97x6.06x4.21mm), its overall length is 11.88mm and it weighs 0.81g. The other has a square conical head (8.44x7.83x4.14mm), its overall length is 14.26mm and it weighs 1.16g. The shaft is bent towards the end. Although it is rare for iron nails to survive for a prolonged period, this size and shape conforms to known examples of Roman hobnails.

An incomplete stone object, probably a hone or whetstone of uncertain date. It is formed from a hard grey/brown stone, probably a schist or similar, with micaceous inclusions. The surviving fragment is rectangular in form and section, terminating at both ends in old breaks. Along one long side the edges have what appear to be longitudinal grooves or bevels, past which the object terminates in old breaks. Medium brown flint, dark brown at the distal end, with white mottling. Just over 4 centimeters long, 1.2 centimeters at its widest. Some cortex left on the distal end and a few negatives of previously knapped-off bits on the dorsal face (including one negative of a bulb and compression rings from a previous flake near the striking platform). A few small retouches on the sharp sides. Plump bulb with close and clearly visible compression rings. Eraillure on the bulb, flake triangular in section.
