Flint flake, ovoid in plan and rod shaped in profile. The dorsal surfaced has uneven mesial ridging. The distal and proximal ends are snapped. The left and right margins are serrated. The ventral side has small flake removal by the bulb of percussion on the proximal end. The left and right margins are either finely retouched or scarred. the flint is pale to mid grey in colouring with a tertiary cortex. Bond (2004) illustrates a similar example on page 116, Fig. 5.100, No. 14 which is dated to the Mesolithic period.

There are two parallel horizontal grooves on either side of a wider band between them that is running through the middle of the sherd. The fabric has inclusions of pale felspars, dark augite and mica and is mid-brown on the exterior and dark brown on the interior of the sherd. This 'mucky' gabbroic fabric looks the same as that of the other two sherds in the image, 523.3 and 523.4, so they may have come from the same vessel. The right margin is serrated with a possible notch on the lower section. On the ventral side the left margin has slight low-angle retouch. The flint is mottled grey brown in colouring with tertiary cortex. Mercer (1981) illustrates a similar example on page 143, Fig. 63, No. L. 199 which is dated to the Neolithic period.

Neolithic flake, a pointed rod shape in plan and plano convex in profile. the dorsal side has a convex surface with a single mesial ridge. There are two small notches on the left margin. Both margins are sharp. The proximal end is snapped. On the ventral side the distal tip is retouched. The flint is creamy grey in tone with a tertiary cortex. Mercer (1981) illustrates a similar example on page 127, Fig. 55, No. L. 91 which is dated to the Neolithic period.

An incomplete Roman cast copper-alloy single-loop rectangular buckle (AD 43-100). The frame is slightly misshapen and sub-rectangular in cross-section. It has a large lip in the form of a pin rest at the outer edge and the bar is slightly narrowed. The plain cruciform style pin is convex on the upper face and flat on the underside. It has a loop which fully encloses the bar and the shaft has two transverse curving arms, one at each side. Each arm is bevelled at the front edge and one arm is partly missing due to a break. An incomplete post-Medieval cast silver double-looped buckle (1500-1650 AD). Treasure case no. 2012 T1. One loop and the pin are missing. The surviving loop is D-shaped, flat at the front and rear and the narrowed bar is triangular in cross-section. A small knop projects at each end of the bar.
