A copper-alloy double ended awl, probably of Bronze Age date. This artefact has a lozenge shape of 58.2mm length and maximum width of 5.7mm tapering to a point at both ends (rounded point at one end and a flattened point at the other). The cross-section is sub-square at the centre with a thickness of 5.4mm that also tapers towards the pointed terminals. One of the terminals retains the sub-square cross-section, becoming rectangular at the very tip, but the other terminal gains a more circular cross-section for approximately the last 8.7mm of the length. Weight is 6.42g. Awls were a r…

A small copper alloy single loop D-shaped buckle frame with a sheet copper-alloy plate and copper-alloy wire pin still attached. The buckle has a pointed outer edge with a grooved pin rest. There also appears to be a decorative groove at either end of the bar, dividing it from the frame, although this may not be deliberate as the buckle is not well made. The frame is 21mm in length,13mm wide by 2mm thick. The plate shows signs of damage, with an apparently fragmentary edge. It was made by folding a strip of copper alloy sheet around the bar and cutting a pin slot. The plate is now …

Description: A fragment of unidentified silver artefact. The fragment is almost rectangular, but the two longer cut edges are slightly oblique, forming in fact a parallelogram. The upper surface is smooth and generally flat but very slightly undulating, as if hammered. Each of the short original edges has two raised integrally cast pellets, one at each corner. These pellets have a diameter of 4 to 4.5mm, sloping sides and a flat top; they look rather like imitation rivet heads; one is set within a very slightly lowered square. A cast copper-alloy object of uncertain date and function. The artefact consists of a flat-sectioned, openwork plate in the form of a pair of anthropomorphic feet, set side by side, their inner edges touching. A rib separates the toes from the rest of the feet, while a series of other such ribs defines a geometric pattern, the nature of which differs between the two feet. These designs may either be random in nature or else possibly designed to create the impression of sandal straps. Some of the apertures - particularly the outer toes and the chevron-shaped central cell of the right…
