The object is a sub-rectangular shape in plan with a tubular shaped long edge which protrudes at the base slightly. The tube has been formed by the edge curling over. Both faces of the pendant have been decorated with a series of high-relief lozenge shapes which was surrounded by blue enamel. The item has a brown coloured surface.

Globular copper-alloy steelyard weight with lead core. It is 39 mm in diameter and 32 mm tall up to a flattened top. In the centre of the top is an integrally cast triangular suspension lug with a circular perforation, which brings the height up to 42 mm. There is no evidence for any iron pins attaching the lead to the copper-alloy sheath; off-centre on the base is the hole through which the lead was poured, with a slightly too small copper-alloy cap covering it. A small sub-triangular strap end which appears to have been cast in one and following which the wide end which is rounded has been split to form two plates, there is a single copper-alloy rivet in the centre at this end, the narrow end has been cast at approximately a 45 degree angle to the rest of the fitting, creating a profile reminiscent of a bird.

The ampulla has a rounded base which narrows at the neck. One side of the neck has a small sub semi-circular lug with no perforation. The opposite edge of the neck has been torn obliquely across to the upper corner of the ampulla. One face of the ampulla had two deep, parallel grooves, which are not recent as the patina covers the whole item. The patina is a beige/cream colour. No decoration is visible at all.
