A copper alloy Late medieval or Post-medieval thimble. It is of 'beehive' shape, with a conical dome and slightly flared sides. The pits appear to have been made in concentric rows. There are 2 notches in the edge of the rim; these seem to be a feature of the method of manufacture. The thimble has a varied mid green patina. The walls are 1.02mm thick.

An complete copper alloy knife cap or finial dating from the post-medieval period, c. AD 1500 - c. AD 1650.
The object is trefoil in plan and broadly rectangular in section. The object is tri-lobed in plan with three round ended leaves which have a moulded dent in each centre/top, the leaf on the right curves outwards flanking a longer central leaf. The base is oval and remains of the iron tang can be seen, however this is heavily corroded.
The object is a greenish in colour with an even patina. Abrasion caused by movement whilst within the plough soil may have resulted in the loss of some of the original surface detail. Other examples of this type of object have been recorded on the database including WMID-3747BE, WAW-C05EF6 and SOM-737577, which have been dated to the 16th to 17th Centuries AD.
