Post-medieval finger ring; gold posy ring with stamped decoration on the exterior face and an inscription on the interior face. The ring has a floral pattern stamped into the outside and reads 'As I Say So Will I doe' around the inside. It is now somewhat squashed and bent out of shape. 18th century, and therefore found not to be Treasure on the grounds of date.

The cross arms are of almost equal length and have concave ends, each of which contains a round setting. Two of these still contain small cabochon garnets, one of them contains flat garnet and a fourth, larger stone mounted very crudely at the centre of the cross. The finger-ring is gold, and dates from the fifteenth century.

Post medieval coin; Struck gold fanam from the Cochin area of the Dutch West coast of India. This is a very tiny, dished coin with abstract designs of circles, lines and dots on both sides. The coin was identified by Sam Moorhead (British Museum), who notes that coins of this type were struck by the Rajas of Cochin and the Zamorins of Kalicut in the period c1600-1800. A Medieval gold posy finger-ring fashioned into the shape of a garter. The external surface is inscribed in black lettering with the words + tout + pur + le + meus + which is likely to mean all for the better A gold ring in the British Museum collection (Dalton 977) carries a similar inscription (pur le meux). CORONER'S REPORT Description of Find The ring is substantially gold and consists of a broad, punch-decorated band tapering sharply at each end to wire terminals which were originally twisted together; width, 26 mm. On either side of a very worn, beaded median rib the ring is decorated with two rows of interlocking punched triangles with triple pellets in each. The ring has been distorted while in the ground and the ends are now almost untwisted as a result.
