This is likely to mean "Until I die I will be yours". This sentiment suggests that the ring may originally have served as a marriage ring. The finger ring is gold and dates from the late fourteenth or the fifteenth century.

Four coins reported found on the site of a previous find of similar coins. These coins are all gold doblas of Peter or Pedro I, King of Castile ('Pedro the Cruel'), who reigned 1350-69. All the coins were struck at the Seville mint, the main mint of Castile. They are of good weight and are in generally good condition, with slight indications of wear, so they have seen some currency.
In my report on the previous coins found on the site (December 2005), I made the following comments:
'Gold coins of the 14th century are not frequent finds. We do know from documentary sources that for…

A medieval finger ring, hollow cast, with a roughly oval aperture at the bezel. The back of the bezel is open so that the stone it once held would have been in contact with the wearer's skin. This may indicate that the stone was thought to have magical properties. It would have been secured in place by two pins inserted through two small apertures, one at the top and one at the bottom.
The external face of the hoop is decorated on the left with a double row of zigzags, which runs into an inscription:
IC HOPE (I hope)

Small gold posy ring, slightly bent, the exterior keyed for enamel, none of which survives. The outside of the hoop is decorated with small engraved grooves, but there is no recognisable pattern. The inside bears the Latin inscription *DVE *DONA*A*QUI*LVPLEAT. The star at the beginning of the inscription retains all its light blue enamel, while the other stars have remains of blue enamel, as does the inscription. The exterior may have been enamelled in the same colour. The words of the inscription look like Latin, but they make no sense. There is no word 'LVPLEAT' for example. …
