Fragment of a plain gold rod. The gold rod is circular in section and is rounded at one end and broken at the other. The surface is smooth and only slightly pitted. There is no decoration though some evidence for small hammer marks on the rod. Due to its undiagnostic nature it does not represent Treasure under the terms of the Treasure Act (1996).

Report to H M Coroner on find of potential Treasure from Radway, Warwickshire. 2005 T552 Small gold penannular ring with traces of decorative banding in close-set narrow stripes, which would originally have shown as bands of yellow and paler gold. A plain gold band of uncertain date and function. The object consists of a gold strip of flat section and parallel sides which has been distorted into an irregular semi-circle. One end appears to have been broken to form a square section whilst the other tapers towards what may have been a terminal which is also broken. In its current bent state, the object measures 33mm long, 18.6mm wide and 2mm thick. The weight is 6.14g.

Short length of distorted gold rod of approximately circular cross-section. Both ends appear to have been cut using a chisel. Diameter of rod 5mm; weight 3.21g. Non-destructive X-ray fluorescence analysis of the surface indicated a gold content of approximately 55-58%, a silver content of approximately 40-44% and a copper content of more than 1%. Possibly a distorted solid penannular ring, the diameter of which would have been approximately 13mm. Small, plain penannular gold ring of flattened oval cross section; the ends taper slightly to flat terminals. Examination in the laboratory indicated that the object has a base metal core. External diameter 15.5x14mm; internal diameter 4.5mm; breadth 6mm; weight 6.18 grams. Non-destructive X-ray fluorescence analysis of the surface of penannular ring from 'Havant area', Hampshire, indicated a gold content of 76 - 79 %, silver content of 16 - 18 %, the remainder being copper. The ring weighs 6.18 grams and the specific gravity measurement of 9 indicates that it has a base metal core.

A Bronze age strip of sheet gold which long, cigar shaped with squared off terminals. At either end is a set of three small perforations set in a triangle. A gold Bronze age bracelet. In its current form, this is a roughly annular band with a small overlap. One end is a slightly thickened terminal of thin crescentic shape, the other is a thin, wavy edge most likely the product of the reworking of a broken end. Complete gold composite penannular ring of Middle Bronze Age date (1300 BC - 1150 BC). The ring is a tri-partite composite type. The three elements are lightly C-shaped in cross-section and have apparently been soldered together. Each of the elements is about 3mm in width. The item falls into the category of Bronze Age composite rings which have clear associations with twisted bar ornaments, onto which they can be threaded.
