A nearly complete Medieval silver penny of Edward I (1272-1307 AD). London mint. Probably North Class 9b; Wren Class 9b. Unbarred 'N' and angular 'L' with star on breast of crowned ruler. Cf. North 1991, Vol II, No. 1037/1, dating to c. 1299-1300/1. This coin is in very good condition, although the pattern of surface wear makes identifying specific features difficult; a small nick has been taken out of the legend area of the coin.
