An incomplete and slightly misshapen Medieval to post-Medieval cast copper-alloy closed thimble (c. 1400-c. 1550 AD). This thimble has a plain rim which is mostly missing due to breaks or corrosion. The sides slope towards the domed crown, the apex of which is bare. The walls have 16/17 spiralling lines of sub-circular indentations which extend on to the crown. This thimble has a brown patina and is corroded in places. Parts or the surface have exfoliated. Height: 20.10mm; diameter: 20.18mm; thickness of walls: 0.86mm. Weight: 6.44g. One loop from a cast copper alloy swivel for a strap fitting (such as a leash), dating from the medieval period. The loop is D-shaped in plan with the straight edge thickened to accommodate an aperture through the wall of the loop. The opening is now filled with corroded concretion, but would have held a pin which would have fixed this loop to another, allowing them both to rotate freely (see other examples on this database for comparison, such as YORYM-7DFA97). A complete cast copper alloy pommel from a knife or dagger. This example probably dates to the Medieval period (c. 1100-c.1450 AD). It is hollow and sub-spherical in form and has a sub-oval hole at the top measuring 6.55 mm long by 5.58 mm wide and a sub-rectangular hole at the base measuring 9.50 mm long by 9.06 mm wide. The object measures an overall 17.4 mm long, 21.41 mm in diameter and weighs 15.99 grams. The face bearing the sub-rectangular hole is flat and would have allowed the tang of the cutting implement to fit snugly against its surface.

A fragment of a cast copper alloy spearhead dating from the Middle or Late Bronze Age, about 1550 – 800 BC. The fragment consists of only the very tip of the spearhead, but it is in excellent condition. It has a narrow and slender tip with a pronounced midrib on both faces which is triangular in section. The tapering wings have slight edge bevels. The wing edges are still sharp, the the rib is also angular enough to feel crisp, and to form a sharp point. The break at the wider end is patinated. A Roman Period, Copper Alloy Openwork Brooch measuring 29mm long, 19.08mm wide , and 4.34mm thick. The brooch weighs 3.56g. The brooch is sub rectangular with rounded ends containing two circular voids. These are set either side of a central area which is flat and plain except for a pyramid shaped stud in its centre.
