A cast copper alloy ramrod pipe from the underside of a rifle / musket / long arm / firearm dating to the Post-medieval period (1630-1700). The artefact is tubular and has a circular internal diameter - it tapers slightly from end to end. The external section is distinctly faceted having eight irregular faces; the internal surface is circular with a diameter of 14.2mm at the widest end and 12.1mm at the other. A complete cast copper alloy buckle of post-medieval date. The buckle is a double looped, sub-rectangular shape with integral strap bar. The pin no longer remains. The metal is a mid reddish-brown colour and is worn. The buckle is 22.9mm long, 17.7mm wide, 1.7mm thick and weighs 1.5g. A similar example is illustrated in Whitehead, p.75, no.465 and is dated to circa 1570 - 1700. This example is however more slender than those depicted by Whitehead and could possibly be later.

A fragment of a medieval to early post medieval lead alloy with iron pin pilgrim or secular badge. The fragment is roughly triangular with an elongated point from which project two arms on either side before a break. The arms are also all broken. The opposite edge of the triangle has two concave curves which meet at a central projecting point. It is decorated on all over the front face with striped lines. The find consists of a gold ring with broken intaglio which is of 1st/2nd century Roman date. Oval carnelian of flat section with oblique sides (Henig1974, 55, fig 1, Flat 1), approximately one-quarter missing, in plain, oval gold collet with lower rim and only very slight intermittent notch at top to hold intaglio. An incomplete cast copper alloy harness fitting of medieval date. The fitting is sub-rectangular in plan due to worn breaks along two sides. The surviving portion has a lion passant within a thick raised border (only two sides of which now remain and the reverse is undecorated. There are no signs of attachment method which makes it difficult to determine the exact nature of this particular object. The metal has a dark reddish-brown patina and is worn. The harness fitting is 28.9mm long, 23.9mm wide, 3.8mm thick and weighs 10.2g.

An incomplete cast copper alloy single looped D shaped buckle frame with integral strap plate of probable Medieval date (1250-1400 AD). The buckle frame is lost being broken at the junction with the strap plate. The plate itself is sub-rectangular in plan with a trefoil / debased fleur-de-lis shaped terminal. A copper-alloy mount of post-Medieval date. The thin, slightly convex plate forming the head of the mount takes the form of an acorn. The rounded cupule has moulded segments and a curved ridge marks its rim. The tapering nut has a pointed projection at the end. A right-angled 'stalk' projects from the base of the cupule. On the concave underside of the mount there are two circular-sectioned rivets, both of which appear to have been added after the original casting. Penannular ring having narrow stripes of alternately yellow and whiter gold. The surface is rather worn except for the interior of the hoop where the striping is protected. The hoop tapers to flat terminals. When tested the ring was found to be of the type consisting of a gold covering over a non-precious metal core (see report). Maximum external diameter 16mm; weight 9.23 grams.
