A contemporary copy of an Irish silver halfpenny of Edward I, Dublin mint. The coin appears to be made from poor quality silver and is very thin, weighing only 0.39g. The obverse legend appears to be fictitious and the reverse legend reads IVITAS DVBLINIE with the C missing from the beginning of CIVITAS. Contemporary copies of Edward I Irish pennies are known from the UK and the continent but halfpennies are not as common.
