A Continental Iron Age copper alloy bronze unit made in central Belgic Gaul, about 60-30 BC. This type which shows a 'Janiform' head (based on the Roman god Janus) and a left-facing lion, is often attributed to the Suessiones tribe. The type is published in Delestree and Tache (2002) series 65, no 563.

An incomplete Late Iron Age/ Early Roman (AD 20-80) copper alloy Colchester one-piece brooch missing half the spring, pin and most of the catchplate. It measures 56.22mm in length and weighs 11.8g.
The wings, which are flat and rectangular in shape, span 20.18mm. To the front they are decorated with at least two transverse ribs on each side, but loss of the patina largely obscures any detail. Behind the wings, the spring chord (undamaged) is 23.79mm wide. This is held by a forward-facing hook. Four coils survive on one side only and iron corrosion is apparent from the axis bar.

They all belong to the same type, the so-called flat linear cast bronze unit or Flat linear 'potin' series of coins which were made and circulated in Kent and along the lower Thames valley in the early first century BC. An almost complete Late Iron Age (c.75-10 BC) copper alloy La Tène III brooch of a rare continental form, first defined by Feugère (1985, Type 11a). It is slightly squashed with some damage to the catchplate but otherwise complete. A parallel on this database is BERK-5D9043, also from Wiltshire, and from which much of this record has been taken. Measures 46.80x11.40mm and weighs 5.7g.

An incomplete copper alloy Late Iron Age/ Early Roman La Tène III (AD 20-100) simple one-piece or Nauheim derivative type brooch, missing the spring and pin, and the curl of the catchplate. The lower bow is bent upwards to roughly 90degrees with the rest of the brooch. It measures 48.40mm in bent length (c.67mm unbent) and weighs 2.6g.
