A probable pin manufactured from cast copper alloy. The object has a flattened disc-like terminal decorated with two raised horizontal lines, the shaft is rectangular in section around the middle, tapering to a point.
This object may be part of a brooch fastening, or used for securing clothing. Broadly similar examples, also from Lincolnshire, may be found on this database including NCL-DOCEC4. That particular example has been identified as an early medieval pin, dating from the 8th-9th centuries.

Three pieces of copper-alloy casting waste. One fragment is flat, roughly oval and with a pitted surface on both sides (36mm x 23mm x 3mm). The second is oval in plan (22mm x 20mm x 5mm), and the third is an oval-shaped casting jet with two prongs on the underside (22mm x 21mm x 5mm).

A lead plumb bob of uncertain date. The weight is conical, with an iron suspension loop projecting from the top. There is some corrosion damage to the surface of the iron, and wear to the lead surface, but otherwise the object is in fair condition.
Still in use today, the plumb bob has a long history with its earliest recorded use by the Egyptians in around 2600BC (Murland). There are several examples on this database with numerous dates attributed, but no distinct typology has been developed to enable accurate dating of these tools. An early Roman copper-alloy Hod Hill brooch. The brooch has rolled over wings; the pin is missing. The bow is narrow and contains a tall ridge down the centre and a narrow ledge on both perimeters. The foot has four transverse, notched ribs. The surface has been tinned or silvered. A catchplate is located on the reverse of the foot.

A group of pottery from a pottery production site at Legsby, Lincolnshire. Report by Ian Rowlinson.
A small group of Roman pottery from Legsby was presented to the author for comment by Adam Daubney (Portable Antiquities Scheme) after being found after dredging a ditch. This group consists of six large greyware sherds all weighing above 190g that can be dated to the later 2nd to 3rd century including a nearly complete carinated beaker which has been burnished externally.
