Romano-British Fragment of Crossbow brooch, half of separate cross-arm only, triangular in plan, broken across perforation for missing bow at central apex, rib and V-shaped groove at integral collared conical knob at terminal, notch in point, length >25, diameter of knob 12mm. Cf. Swift’s (2000) Type 3/4, fig.5, closest to an example from Neuberg an-der-Donau. 4th century.

Complete cast copper alloy "crotal" bell of Post Medieval date (AD 1500 – AD 1800). Length 43mm, diameter 36mm. Weight 42.28g. The decorated bell has a sub-rectangular suspension lug which is 11m in length, 13mm wide at the base and 11.5m in width at the top. It has a maximum thickness of 6mm at the base. There is a circular perforation in the lug which is 5mm in diameter. The spherical bell is divided horizontally into two equal halves by a prominent circumferential moulded rib. A medieval silver finger-ring, the hoop engraved with a black-letter inscription, the meaning of which is unclear. The inscription begins with a cross, and is divided by two flowers and two five-pointed stars, evenly-spaced and alternating. Some of the letters terminate in foliate sprigs. The ring probably dates to the late 14th or 15th century. Maximum diameter: 22mm Width: 5mm The find therefore qualifies as Treasure under the stipulations of the Treasure Act 1996 in terms of both age and precious metal content (Beverley Nenk, Prehistory & Europe, British Museum, 7 July 2005).

Medieval copper alloy non-heraldic horse harness pendant. The pendant is flat and in the form of a quatrefoil with a suspension loop above set at a right angle to the plane of the object. In the centre of the quatrefoil there is an enamelled red square with a further outer border of red enamel. The square contains another square set on its corner decorated with a series of lines coming off it in a sunburst pattern. The centre of this contains a flower or sun motif. The remaining outer semi-circular lobes are decorated an uncertain motif containing blue enamel.
