Four Sussex ware Roman pot sherds. The sherds are all worn and abraded. 1) Rim with three thumb impressions along the top. Grog and possibly sand tempered. Measures 63.65mm x 39.66mm, maximum thickness 10.86mm. 2) Rim. Grog and shell tempered. Measures 45.28mm x 23.53mm; thickness 8.57mm. 3) Base. Grog tempered. Measures 40.09mm x 27.94mm; thickness 6.63mm. 4) Body. Grog tempered. Measures 39.91mm x 26.73mm; thickness 10.35mm. Total weight: 60g

4 sherds of Black Burnished ware pottery. Reduced dark grey fabric with abundant rounded quartz sand temper. The surfaces are burnished. The larger body sherd has been misfired and oxidised to an orangey-red. 1 rim sherd from a jar (very everted - late Roman). 1 rim sherd from a flanged bowl (the rim protrudes very slightly above the flange - early Roman). 2 undiagnostic body sherds. Handmade. All the sherds are abraded.
