3 sherds of black burnished ware pottery. Very dark grey, soft fabric with sand temper. The exterior is burnished and there is evidence of a slip on the interior in that a thin cream band is visible below a the very dark grey to black surface. Possibly Poole/Wareham fabric 1b. Two conjoining sherds and one other from open bowls with a small bead rim. (type 13 bowl). This type generally dates from the 1st century Ad in Dorset.

Three large sherds of first century pottery: a beaded rim on a short necked jar, fabric contains black inclusions which have dissolved out at the surfaces (?organic); a rim of a heavy lid in a fabric containing grog and sand; a body sherd of a storage jar with narrow shoulder cordon and a row of fingertip impressions below in a sandy fabric.

A large body and rim sherd from an Iron Age Channel Rimmed jar with slashed decoration. The exterior of the sherd is very dark, almost black. The interior of the sherd is a pale orange colour. The diameter of the pot when complete would have measured around 18 mm. The pot dates to the very late Iron Age, to circa 60 AD.

An almost complete carinated urn or jar from the late Iron Age or early Roman period, dating from circa 25 BC to circa 60 AD. The vessel is wheel thrown and is tempered with small calcite grog, and possible shell inclusions. It is unfortunately missing its base. The vessel is 130 mm in diameter at its opening and 98 mm in diameter at what remains of the base. The vessel stands 106 mm high without its missing base. The exterior is decorated with lateral channels and ridges created by trailing a tool over the vessel whilst it was spinning on the wheel.

A large body and rim sherd from a late Iron Age to early Roman Butt Beaker, a copy of a Gallo Belgic type. The vessel would have had a diameter of around 11 cm at its opening. It is decorated with a large groove before expanding into the bulb of the body, which is decorated with vertical incised zig-zags. The vessel sherd is 82 mm high. The vessel is of a grey to brown sandy colour with small grog and calcite inclusions, and evidence of burnt out organic inclusions also.

A late Iron Age to early Roman Channel Rimmed jar. The vessel is almost complete, missing only parts of the base and some rim sherds. The jar is of a pale creamy colour with dark grey to black burning on the exterior. It has a grey core, with large and sparse grog temper. The vessel measures 155 mm in diameter at its opening and 93 mm in diameter at its base. It stands 177 mm tall. It was wheel thrown.

A late Iron Age to early Roman Channel Rimmed jar. The vessel is almost complete, missing only its base and some rim and body sherds. The vessel fabris is of an orange colour with dark grey to black colouration around the rim. It is tempered with frequent large shell and grog inclusions. The vessel is 153 mm in diameter at its opening and 107 mm in diameter above its missing base. It stands 168 mm tall.

Five sherds of a shell tempered coarse ware, probably from the late Iron Age to early Roman period. The five sherds are comprised of a base sherd, three body sherds and a rim sherd, not neccesarily from the same vessel. The sherds each have large shell inclusions within a dark grey fabric. The larger of the three body sherds has very subtle linear decoration on the exterior, probably achieved by dragging an implement against the pot whilst it was being spun on a wheel. Incomplete ceramic vessel that contained part of plough dispersed hoard of Late Iron Age, Durotrigan, base silver staters (100 BC - AD 43). See PAS record IOW-F44A12. Treasure case no. BM2005 T443. Total weight of sherds 218.97g.(includes some soil adhering to the surfaces).
This incomplete part of the vessel consists of base and lower body sherds (15 sherds in total). The fabric of this vessel fragment is a reddish yellow colour (Munsell Color 5YR 6/6) and is evenly tempered with small unidentifiable inclusions. The fragment is partially covered with marine growth. It has old and abraded breaks.

A rim sherd from a South Midlands Shell-tempered Ware storage jar of probable late Iron Age to Roman date. The rim is fairly deep, has a slightly convex outer face, and a clear break at the bottom with the steep wall of the vessel. The fabric is light orange in colour and has frequent coarse shell inclusions. The sherd is slightly abraded and measures 63.3mm long by 30.3mm high and 10.1mm thick. It weighs 42.18g.

A base sherd from a Grog-tempered pottery jar of late Iron Age to early Roman date. This pottery was produced in the Herts/Essex border area between the 1st century BC and the 2nd century AD. The base is flat and the wall extends upwards at an angle of approximately forty five degrees. The fabric is mid grey in section, has orange surfaces, and contains moderate medium-sized grog inclusions. The sherd measures 57.8mm long by 41.6mm wide and 12.9mm thick. It weighs 32.61g.
