The token is 18.83mm in diameter, 1.72mm thick and weighs 3.33 grams. Complete cast lead token of probable late Medieval to early Post-Medieval date. The obverse shows the initials R ?I with pellets surrounding whilst the reverse carries a concentric circle design of 3 rings with central pellet and 4 radiating linears. The exact use and date of such tokens, which are a frequent find, is unclear. It is likely that they were used as a form of pseudo-money, tokens, tickets or perhaps even as gaming pieces. Dated c.1400-1700 AD.
