A fragment from a cast copper alloy early Anglo-Saxon brooch of small-long type, 5th to 6th century AD in date. The fragment comprises most of the foot (the lower half of the brooch) and is highly abraded and corroded. Enough remains, however, to see that the foot was widest at the top, tapering slightly to form a long triangular shape before expanding again at the terminal with two steps outwards. The very end may have originally been rounded. The foot is thin and flat in side view and much of the front surface is missing due to corrosion. Numerous ring-and-dot motifs survive at the …

A cast copper alloy open work stirrup strap mount, dating to the late early-medieval / Anglo-Scandinavian period c. AD 1000-1100. The stirrup mount has a lozenge-shaped frame and has four openwork lozenge-shaped apertures internally; the uppermost section and apex is now broken but would have terminated in a rounded loop for suspension and attachment. There is a heel at the base of the mount and a rivet in the centre of the openwork frame, probably to act as extra security. Williams Class A Type 12.

A fragment from a cast copper-alloy Anglo-Saxon Great Square-headed Brooch, dating from the early to mid-6th century AD. The fragment is one of the arms of the brooch, is gilded and is decorated with chip-carving in Salin's Style I. There are disjointed animal parts such as legs and bodies which are distinguishable and possibly a animal or predatory bird's head. The reverse is plain. Although the break is worn it does not appear to be ancient, suggesting that it may have happened during ploughing.

The neck and terminal of a prick spur of composite construction and probable 11th or 12th century date. The neck is of copper alloy and through this runs an iron shaft which projects to form the goad. The terminal is conical and has eight ridges. The neck has a circular section with closely-spaced encircling ridges, and expands where it meets the missing iron heel and sides. Spurs with conical or pyramidal goads are known from the mid 11th to the late 13th centuries (Ellis in Clark 1995, 127). There are other composite goads on the PAS database (e.g. HAMP-7660EC and BH-BCD836) but …
