The bezel is disc-shaped with a decorated face inlaid with enamel. The face has an outer circle with small trapezoidal cells filled with blued enamel, while the inner circle is quartered with the cells filled with red enamel.<\/p>\n<p>One side of the bezel retains a slight projection of the hoop, and the opposite side of the bezel has broken edges. The rectangular frame for taking a strap is broken, with only the bases of the arms projecting from the body of the clasp.<\/p>\n<p>The surface has scrolling vegetal motif in relief, though obscured by corrosion. The underside of the clasp retains a thick, compact layer of iron corrosion.<\/p>\n<p>The decoration suggests a late 16th or 17th century date. A circular hole near the baseplate and at the end of the bar indicate that the mount was held in place by nails. The doll has a domed face with eyes and nose in relief, framed by flaring collar to each side and a row of curled hair above. A pearl necklace separates the face and the body, which has a strip of square panels running down each side and the centre of the chest, between a pair of domed breasts. The arms emerge from the shoulder and bend down at the elbow in narrow sleeves, such that each arm is shaped like the number 7. Each terminal has a circular perforation, with the two side-extending arms retaining the bent nails that attached the suspension mount to the harness strap. The fourth, downward extending arm is shorter in length than the other three and ends with a pair of lugs. An axel connects these two lugs and a third central lug that extends from the fixture to the actual pendant (no missing).
