Medieval silver penny of Edward I (1272-1307) or a continental sterling imitation, possibly class 3cd or 2a, mint unclear, 1279 - 1290 AD, North (1991:28) no.1014 or 1018/1019. The coin is extreamly worn and slightly damaged down one side. There appears to be a lombadic n on the obverse but due to the wear on the coin this is uncertain..

Incomplete hammered silver coin, probably of Edward I of England as one can make out ANGL on the obverse. Probably North 1023.There is a comma after L which is a characteristic of class 4a. It isjust about possible to make out the start of VILLA on the reverse, so it is probably minted at either Berwick, Newcastle, Bristol, Kingston-upon-Hull or Bury St Edmunds. Based on this the coin probably dates from 1282 to 1289AD. The length is 16mm, and the width is 11mm.
