A copper alloy pin of probable Roman date. It has a small flattened globular head and there is no collar nor grooves. The shaft is thick, and expands slightly in diameter as it extends further from the head (3.18mm under the head, 3.5mm at the widest point). It tapers again slightly at the far end, but it is not clear whether it is intentionally hipped. The far end is patinated, but may be a break. The pin has a smooth well developed grey green patina. Compare NARC-CBCBE1.
