The object is decorated with a central shield filled with a cross, containing remains of red enamel. A well preserved Roman copper alloy lion mask mount, one of a pair found roughly side by side [see also BUC-F52027] 500mm apart. It was clear that they had not been buried still mounted on the object they had been fixed to or with any other objects. The face and especially the mask stands proud of the rectangular base plate, the fringe of mane around it, with separate curling strands delineated in progressively shallower relief. An incomplete cast copper alloy mount of post-medieval date. The mount has a heart shaped body with a domed profile and concave reverse. The pointed end of the heart extends in to an open work trefoil though the two side lobes are now missing due to old breaks. The front of the mount is otherwise undecorated. A cast copper alloy mount, probably from a casket or vessel, of Roman date. The mount is in the form of a female bust. The head is oval with cast features which are obscured by wear and corrosion. A cast copper-alloy mount of Medieval date. It is a domed, circular mount with a hollow back. On one side is a flat sub-triangular piece with a circular hole in the centre for attachment. It is likely that there was a similar piece on the opposite side but this is missing due to old breaks. The face has been divided into six evenly sized facets. It measures 24.07mm in diameter, 1.23mm in thickness and weighs 3.75g.

An Early Post-Medieval (1500-1700) copper alloy mount with a white-metal coating (probably tinning), apparently phallic in form but may also represent a stylised bird-in-flight. Measures 20.56x10.67x5.04mm (without the outward-bent spikes 17.64mm long) and weighs 1.65g. The mount is bifurcate at one end, waisted in the centre and cut in a triangle at the other end. To the reverse are two bent spikes for attachment to leather, one bent outwards, one to the side.

Post Medieval cast copper alloy mount or stud, probably of 16th to 18th century date. The mount is pointed oval in shape with an old break at one narrow end. It is convex on the front and concave on the back with slight longitudinal facets running down the front. From the centre of the back projects an integral square sectioned attachment spike, the tip of which has broken off. It is 20.6mm long, 10.9mm wide 4.6mm thick excluding the spike, 9.1mm including it. It weighs 2.61 grams.
