Roman copper alloy brooch fragment, 16mm long, 10mm wide and 6mm thick. The object consists of a fragmentary rounded plate which has two sub rectangular depressions in one surface. Near to one edge there is a rectangular shaped protrusion which rises up from the surface and then curves slightly in the manner of a catch plate? The reverse is flat and plain.

A plated silver Roman denarius with copper-alloy core of Galba, c.68-69 AD. A contemporary copy with a reverse type of Vespasian. Reverse: IVDAEA, Judaea seated right mourning at foot of trophy. This coin would have been struck in the reign of Vespasian after the IVDAEA reverse type was introduced. It is not uncommon to find plated copies with obverses and reverses from different reigns. However, copies with the obverse of Galba are rare, probably because the prototypes are scarce in the first place.

A cast copper-alloy finger ring of Roman date. One shoulder and the bezel remain, the rest missing due to old breaks. The bezel is hexagonal in shape and the setting is missing. The bezel flares to the shoulder and has a transverse moulding, then constricts again to form the hoop. The bezel is flat in section and there is no decoration. It measures 18.47mm in length, 10.99mm in width, 3.74mm in thickness and weighs 2.16g. It is similar to examples published from Colchester (Crummy, 1983, no 1780).

A lead alloy cloth seal probably dating from 1750 - 1850 AD. It is formed of two discs joined by a strip of metal. A tab on the reverse of one disc has been passed through a hole in the centre of the other disc before being stamped together. The disc with the central hole has been stamped with the letters S B flanking a merchant's mark. This takes the form of a vertical line with a loop o each side in the centre.
