From the squared terminal the side of the strip gradually narrow to an old worn transverse break. Most of the strip is plain. The larger terminal is decorated with four transverse grooves of varying width and depth. The underside is relatively flat and undecorated. It is plano-convex in shape with a domed side, rounded edges and a flat base with a central perforation  No decoration is present on either side and it classified as Walton Rogers form A1 (Walton Rogers, 1997, p.1731/1738). The whorl has an even fawn patina. An incomplete copper-alloy buckle of medieval date, c.AD 1250 - 1400. Meols Type 10. The buckle is a single looped oval with a narrowed and offset bar and ornate outer edge. Two prominent knops flank two smaller knops with raised collars where they join. The central recesses would have acted as a rest for the pin. The pin no longer remains. An incomplete copper-alloy enamelled buckle plate of 12th or 13th century date. The plate is a Limoges product made from copper-alloy of which only a tiny stub survives.
