A complete cast lead pot mend of medieval date. The pot mend is comprised of two large sub-circular discs joined by a thick central shank and was used to mend a broken vessel in order to lengthen the period of use after damage had occurred. The gap between the two plates contains ceramic material of a mid buff coloured fabric which aids in dating the object as a whole to the medieval period. The metal is a dark greyish-white colour and is worn. The pot mend is 34.6mm long, 29mm wide, 17.9mm thick and weighs 61g.

Pottery base sherd from a cup. Slipware. A hard dull red fabric with splashed internal and external metallic glaze with an external trail of white slip. The vessel, perhaps a cup, had an estimated diameter of 120mm, with a flat base and a stepped foot. The body is corrugated; lightly on the middle part of the outside, and more prominently within. The area bearing white slip also bears crude knife-cut vertical slashes. The impression is of an individualistic piece. Suggested date: Post-Medieval, 1650-1700. Weight: 61.87gms.

A body sherd from a Roman greyware vessel. It is of a crude quadrilateral form with breaks that are fairly abraded. It is shallowly curved in profile. The fabric is fine and sandy with some possible mica inclusions. It is light/mid-grey in colour. There are low parallel ridges internally that might be throwing marks. A fragment of a Medieval or Post-Medieval copper alloy vessel rim. The rim is slightly thickened with a slight swelling on the inner side. The outer surface is roughly cast and covered with soot, the inner surface is smooth. The curve of the fragment suggests the vessel was 200-240mm in diameter but from such a small fragment it is hard to be certain. The fragment is 38mm long and 24.3mm wide, and its thickness varies from 1.6 mm to 3.5mm near the rim. It weighs 9.68 grams.
