A small iron hand-bell plated with copper-alloy using the 'fusion-plating process' (Bourke 1980; 1983).
The bell is corroded but appears to be made from a single piece of iron that has been folded in two; the seam, which is located to the side, is now open and was presumably once riveted together. The bell has pulled shoulders, which results in a very narrow apex. In plan the bell is sub-oval. A ring was set in the top of the bell which served both as a handle and for a suspension of the clapper. The former is evidenced by two small knobs of iron at the apex; the latter is perhaps …

A damaged iron knife. The knife has a tapering integral tang. The back of the tang is flush with the back of the blade. The blade edge is missing, but the shape is elongated and the tip is missing. The knife is now bent at the point where blade meets tang. Possibly Anglo-Saxon, but probably much later.

A possible iron knife blade of unknown date. The object is sub triangular in plan and flat in section; it is very corroded and its exact shape and features are now obscured. One side of the blade is thicker than the other indicating it is a single sided knife blade rather than a doubled edged dagger.

Lead and iron possible fish hook fragment. Cast sub-spherical lead weight with mould line bearing an apparently curved iron shank protruding from opposite sides. An identification as a pin head was entertained, but pin shanks of iron are relatively rare, would not be curved, and would not protrude from both sides of a separate head. Suggested date: Medieval, 1200-1500.

Iron object in the form of a wing-shaped plate, it corners swept back and its underside slightly concave. On the top of the plate is what looks like a swept back fin. Iron blade from a whittle-tanged knife, long tang, blade has a straight back and cutting edge and appears to be angle-backed, point missing, wedge shaped section, tang rectangular. If Anglo-Saxon a seventh century date would be appropriate (Evison 113, Text Table 22) but this knife could be later.
