A flint flake and possible implement of undatable Prehistoric date (Neolithic/ Bronze Age, 3500-800 BC). The flake is incomplete, missing its bulb of percussion and distal end, and measuring 21.82x15.04x5.21mm (weighs 1.85g). The flint has 100% white patination, with black visible at the breaks. The possible implement has a trinagular cross-section and measures 33.59x10.86x8.83mm (weighs 3.36g). The flint is orange/ brown in colour with possible retouch along all edges. It has c.30% cortex to one end.

Two undatable Prehistoric (Neolithic/ Bronze Age, 3500-800 BC) retouched flint flakes. The larger measures 34.65x23.59x8.86mm, weighs 7.39g and has retouch along the right ventral edge. It appears to have a flake scar along the central arise on the dorsal face, and cortex at both distal and proximal end, and right dorsal/ left ventral edge. The flint is grey/ brown in colour. It may have been used as a scraper. The smaller flake measures 20.26x26.39x4.91mm, weighs 2.72g and has been snapped before the distal end, its widest point. It is along this edge that there is possible reto…

A damaged flint scraper probably dating from the Neolithic period (3500 BC - 2100 BC). It is formed on a chunk of flint with cortex on the dorsal face. The chunk has been rolled or crushed damaging all of the faces. This probably happened post deposition as the abrupt wide retouch one one edge is also worn and damaged. The flint is dark grey.

An incomplete ground and polished Langdale axehead. Made from an Igneous green stone which is probably sourced from the Lake District, Cornwall or Wales. The side facets are polished. The butt end is broken away and the blade edge and one side are chipped, most likely caused post-depostion rather than ancient use-wear. One face is slightly flattened, while the opposite face has more deliberate flattening. The broken butt end is worn, suggesting an old break. Dr. Tom Brindle writes: "Grinding occurs after 4000 BC, so this axe is likely to have a date range of between 4000-2500 BC

Seven flakes of tertiary debitage (from the third / final phase of tool making) of Neolithic date (3500-2100 BC). The flakes are all struck on poor quality flint which varies in coarseness and colour, all being glacial or riverine derived, some possibly being chert rather than flint. None of the waste flakes have been reworked / retouched to form other artefacts such as scrapers. The dorsal faces of some of the flakes show ridges and flake scars, the reverse faces show conchoidal ripples. The flakes have a bulk weight of 34.67 grams

A tool made on a nodule of dark brown translucent flint, full of opaque light grey and some coarser inclusions. The knapper has removed most of the cortex from the nodule and then with a hard hammer struck off a large squat flake. This has truncated the previous large flake scars on the dorsal surface and left only slight adjustments to be made to the plan to make a remarkably symmetrical chopper wedge. From the right a tranchet removal has thinned the blade and further small strikes have smoothed the dorsal surface. Discontinuous bifacial semi-abrupt retouch has given the blade a sha…
