An incomplete fragment from a cast copper alloy 'fob' seal of modern date probably later 18th or early 19th Century (1740-1850). The seal matrix is composite, being formed from a clear glass intaglio set into a machine pressed body. The metal body is broken and damaged, the upper part including the loop is lost. The lower part comprises an irregular octagonal (rectangular with the corners taken off) setting with scroll like patterns on the upper surface. A single hole is present in the middle. Copper alloy thimble. Cast domed thimble of 'beehive' form, with an inscribed foot ring. Punched indentations appear around the sides and over most of the top, with an apical field left empty. These appear to have been punched in circumferential rows, and those on the upper curving surface are of diminishing size. A pair of adjacent splits appears in the side, and several indentations are either corroded or pierced through. Suggested date: Early Post-Medieval, 1500-1600.

Lead weight. Cast shield-shaped weight. A crudely defined incised border encloses the sunken outline of an open crown with side fleurs and a lis in low relief below it. The crown either resembles or has been reformed to become a sunken leopard head motif. This has been accomplished, particularly at the left fleur/ear and along the band of the crown/head, by further cutting. An incomplete cast copper alloy Hod Hil Variant brooch of Roman date. The head of the brooch has been lost due to old breaks and the body is roughly lozenge shaped in plan with a flat apex and projecting lower side knops. The side knops are bent slightly forwards and the front of the bow is decorated with incised lines forming a central triangular panel.
From the reverse of the lower bow the worn remains of the catchplate project and the pin no longer survives.
The metal has a mid reddish-green patina and is worn. The brooch is 36.9mm long, 19.1mm wide, 3.2mm thick and weighs 4.6g.

A Medieval cast copper alloy zoomorphic vessel spout probably dating to the 15th century AD. The cylindrical spout was cast separately from the rest of the vessel and soldered on via the long sloping 'C' shaped arm. The spout itself is tubular and terminates in a dog's head with open mouth from which protrudes the end of the spout. Medieval buckle plate made of copper alloy. The object is rectangular in shape and consists of a folded plate with a rectangular recess in the folded edge, forming two loops to take the buckle frame. At the opposite end there are two circular rivets, one in each corner. There is no obvious decoration on the object. The length is 20mm and the length is 18mm. The weight is 1.94 grams.

An incomplete cast copper alloy button of post-medieval date. The button is discoidal, with a flat back and convex front. The front is decorated with a central four petalled flower with sepals within a circular border and an elaborate scroll-like foliate design. A worn indentation is present on the reverse to mark where the attachment loop would have projected from, though this no longer remains.
The metal has a glossy dark blackish-brown patina and survives in good condition. The button is 12.9mm in diameter, 5.5mm thick and weighs 3.8g.

A corroded fragment from a cast copper-alloy annular brooch of medieval date. The fragment consists of a curved rod, the frame of circular cross-section, to which two separately moulded mounts have been attached. The first applied shape is of a six-petalled flower (sexfoil), with recesses defining the petals. The other is lozengiform with an incised border within which an incised lozenge with a saltire connecting the centre of each of its sides. There is a gap of 7.4mm between the applied elements. The fragment has corroded to a variable mid-green colour.

Fragment of copper-alloy casting waste. The fragment is irregular but clearly shows a failed casting of an object, rather than being waste residues. The object is unclear but appears to have been intended to be semi-cylindrical in cross-section, with a curved top and flared base. The base clearly is divided into three claws or 'toes'. The casting somewhat resembles a Late Saxon stirrup terminal.
The original object measures approximately 19mm x 11mm x 11mm, but is encased in a 'bloom' of casting waste.

A complete cast copper alloy buckle of medieval date. The buckle is a single looped D-shape with a lipped framed for the pin and a narrowed and offset strap bar. A separately cast rectangular plate remains attached to the buckle frame being looped over the strap bar and folded back on itself. A single rivet is present placed centrally at the open end of the plate.
The metal had a mid brownish-green patina and is worn. The buckle is 28.7mm long, 13.6mm wide, 4.8mm thick and weighs 1.9g.
A similar example is illustrated in Whitehead, p.21, no.76 and is dated to circa 1350 - 1450.

A cast lead alloy bird feeder of Post-Medieval date. The feeder has a flat reverse to enable it to sit up against a cage or other item; the front of the feeder is rounded. The edges of the object are uneven. The object has a mid white patina and is undecorated.
Although generally interpreted as bird feeders, these artefacts may also have been die shakers or measures. A parallel for this feeder was found in excavations in Southwark, London (Egan 2005: 129, no. 617).
