A stamped disc bearing legend on one side: a monogram IXL forms a central motif, with bordered circumferential legend: *AYRTON &amp;amp; SAUNDERS*TRADE MARK
Other than an impressed line corresponding to that of the outer border of the legend the reverse is blank. The pharmaceutical company of Ayrton and Saunders was established in Liverpool in 1858 and was sold in 1998. Suggested date: Modern, 1900-1960.
