A circular section of copper alloy extends outwards from the middle section of the reverse and terminates with a flat, circular cap. This rivet would have presumably been fitted onto leather, with the rivet going through the leather and the flat, circular cap would have locked the rivet into position. The metal is a dark greyish-brown colour. The object survives in a very good condition.
