An incomplete Medieval cast lead pilgrim ampulla (c. 1300-c. 1500 AD). A small portion of the mouth is missing. In plan, it has a semi-circular base and the sides are broadly parallel. At each side it has a suspension loop. However, these are not perforated due to a casting imperfection. The obverse is decorated with a raised crown with a large central fleur-de-lis and reverse has a raised wheel with eight spokes. This ampulla is grey with traces of a buff patina. An incomplete and slightly misshapen Medieval to post-Medieval cast copper-alloy closed thimble (c. 1400-c. 1550 AD). This thimble has a plain rim which is mostly missing due to breaks or corrosion. The sides slope towards the domed crown, the apex of which is bare. The walls have 16/17 spiralling lines of sub-circular indentations which extend on to the crown.
