Very worn, broken, clipped and pierced Medieval silver long cross penny. Due to the condition of the coin it is not possible to identify it with certainty although it is likely to be a later Medieval penny and could be as late as the reign of Henry VII (1485-1509). The quatrefoil in the centre of the long cross on the reverse indicate York as the probable mint.
Only a broad Medieval date can be given for this coin c.1300-1500, although it is thought it is most likely to date to the 1400s.
