Palaeolithic handaxe. Ovate/cordate handaxe (Wymer. J, J, (1999) type J/K) in mint condition but with a small thermal (frost) fracture at the butt end. Black glossy flint with pale grey coarse grained inclusions, including a large one at the butt end, probably responsible for the v-shaped thermal (frost) fractured break. One face carries two small areas of fine grey pebble cortex. All flake removals are hard hammer struck. Dimensions 128 x 79 x 37mm. N.B. This has become known as "The" Happisburgh handaxe. A clipped post-medieval silver halfgroat of the Commonwealth (1649-1660) dating to 1649-1660 (North 2728). Mint of London (Tower). North (1975, 173). It measures 17 mm in diameter and weighs 0.7 g. This coin has been pierced twice with a square punch, once from the obverse and once from the reverse. The arrangment of the holes is suggestive of possible re-use as a button.

Middle Bronze Age cast copper alloy palstave (axehead) with central mid-rib pattern and remains of one side loop. The palstave is highly corroded with has an old, irregular break at the butt and along all four flanges. The septum is 2.3mm thick at the butt, 5.8mm thick at maximum, 16.8mm wide before the stop and c.58mm long. There is a deep hole left by an air bubbles at the junction of the septum and stop on one side. A copper alloy domed thimble, probably of Post Medieval date with angled sides and a highly domed top. There is a distinct carination between the sides and top and the top comes to a rounded point in the centre. The thimble is squashed and torn with c.25% missing to old breaks. The thimble has small circular indentations arranged in very regular lines around the upper part of the sides and in circles around the top.
