An incomplete, worn and corroded cast copper-alloy Medieval composite strap end with a sheet spacer. The strap end is rectangular in plan view, and flat in section, and terminates in a biconical square in plan knop with additional sheet detail with grooves. A cast copper alloy Medieval strap end. The strap end is made up of two copper alloy sheets divided by a copper alloy spacer. The strap end is a sub-rectangle in plan with one terminal shaped '>' with a terminal at the apex on both outer plates. The opposite terminal, on both plates, has a central circular perforation as decoration and a rivet hole either side. The two sheets are held together by the one remaining copper alloy rivet. A complete cast copper alloy composite strap end dating to the Medieval period. The strap end consists of a rectangle which opens out into a circular panel with quatrafoil openwork decoration on one side. Attached to which is a spacer which is broadly rectangular in shape with rectangular protrusions at either side near the circular panel. This spacer terminates in a point. Copper-alloy possible strap end, extremely worn and incomplete. Roughly rectangular in shape with one narrer terminal, both terminals are rounded and both could be incomplete. Across the end of the narrower terminal tehre is a horizontal decorative groove. This strap end measures 32.41mm in length and 8.15mm in width. It could potentailly be early medieval in date.

An incomplete cast copper-alloy strap end of Early Medieval date. It is a tongue shaped strap end which is rectangular in section. The back is undecorated and ends in a constriction. The front face is very worn and is broken at the attachment end but it appears to have been decorated. It has been broken into two pieces.29.51 It measures 22.91mm in total length, 10.01mm in width, 2.33mm in thickness and weighs 1.69g.

Cast copper alloy tri-lobe shaped strap end dating from the Medieval period. The strap end is decorated with semi-circular relief decoration. At the top of the object are two snapped rectangular tabbed projections which may have had a bar-mount attached. Two circular rivets survive, but are not in line with one another. The object has a mid-green patina with areas of bronze copper alloy around the decoration. Similar examples can be found on p.157, Egan and Pritchard, (1991).

A fragment of a copper-alloy strap-end of Early Medieval date. All that remains is the terminal zoomorphic end due to old breaks. It is flat and sub-triangular in shape with straight sides that taper to form a stylised animal head. It consists of a pointed snout above which are sub-circular eyes defined by incised grooves and a central raised circle. Above the eyes is a flattened brow with oval shaped ears. It is too worn to be able to see if there is any decoration. It measures 19.28mm in length, 8.67mm in width, 2.50mm in thickness and weighs 1.55g.

Three perforations are arranged triangularly near the rear edge of the strap end. Two lines of small punched panels that have the appearance of cords may indicate a saltire decoration. The reverse face is undecorated, but the display face has been gilded. The strap end has been cut from a sheet of copper-alloy.

A small fragment of possible leather remains between within the object. Each face of the object is undecorated. It has a mid-green patina. Similar examples of can be found in Egan and Pritchard, (1991), p131. The object can be dated to the 14th century.
