Broad period: MEDIEVAL
County: East Riding of Yorkshire
Workflow stage: Awaiting validation Find awaiting validation
A copper alloy cast rectangular belt mount, of D shaped section with a rivet hole of 1mm diameter towards each end. The rivet holes are wider, as if countersunk, c.2mm, on the reverse face. A complete cast copper alloy heraldic mount or plaque of medieval date. The mount is shield shaped and is decorated on one side with an armorial design consisting of four raised, upward pointing chevrons.
