A cast copper alloy, double loop, trapezoidal buckle with openwork frame, dating from about 1620-1680. The outer edge of each loop has a fleur de lis protrusion and is pierced with two rectangular holes. There are ovoid knops on the angles of the frame and a protrusion at either end of the strap bar. The pin is missing. See Whitehead, Buckles 1250 - 1800, p. 85, No. 534. A matching example is SWYOR-20E9A1.

A slightly worn and corroded early-medieval cast copper-alloy strap-end, classified as Thomas' (2003, 2) Class A, probably Type 1 (Trewhiddle style). This would date the artefact to around the 9th century AD. The strap-end is generally flat in profile, but slightly splayed and abraded at the split attachment end. The plate is broadly rectangular with shallowly bowed sides, terminating in an animal head at one end.
